Summer fashion dos and don’t

summer fashion

While there are certain items that are always in fashion and those that trend, it might not look as good on you as it does someone else. It’s all subjective really. However, there are certain dos and don’ts when it comes to summer fashion. You might think it’s fashionable or appropriate, but… you might be wrong. Don’t worry, we’re here to help!

The Don’ts

Date Yourself. Or to be more accurate, don’t date yourself. There are certain items that just don’t go out of style – embrace those simple tops and classic skirts. Perhaps more importantly, you might be proud to announce you still fit into your dress from 25 years ago, but that doesn’t mean that you should be wearing it. It can date you.

Mini Skirts. It really doesn’t matter how great your legs are, you shouldn’t be wearing mini skirts. An inch above your knee is plenty.

Matching. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of colour coordination, but… don’t take it too far. Your shoes, belt, jewellery, and handbag doesn’t need to match.

The Dos

Bare Arms. You shouldn’t be afraid to bear your bare arms, especially if you love them. However, it’s important to note that your neck, hands, and arms are the areas of your body that age first. They’re the parts you tend to forget about, but that get the most exposure to the world. So, make sure you moisturise, but get those arms out. You can try shorter sleeves.

Hosiery. Do go ahead and wear tights! Yes, they are back in style. However, there are some rules to abide by. The first? Don’t wear them with shorts (or capris). The second, don’t show off that reinforced toe. Why get a spray tan when you can embrace tights instead?
