If you are, or know someone, living with loss or reduced vision, it’s well worth heading to Vision Australia’s Texpo to see the latest vision aids.
As well as showcasing technology solutions from oversized Quick Response codes, (barcodes that link to descriptive information about a site, room, or object) to a small device that sounds a beep to indicate when a mug is full of liquid, Vision Australia’s Texpo will have specialist staff running a number of workshops.
Visitors can enjoy master chef tech, solutions for creating in the kitchen; an update on low vision technologies including the latest magnifiers to high definition; and advancements in digital access, tablets and smartphones.
“Products from Vision Australia’s Equipment Solutions, as well as key technology suppliers from Australia and overseas, will be on display. “Visitors will discover everything from electronic readers and braillers to mobile phones and computer access tools,” said Luisa Ferronato, National Program Manager – Equipment Solutions.
“In addition, Vision Australia staff will be on hand to talk to people about the services we provide. “So, if you or someone you know is experiencing vision loss due to aging condition such as macular degeneration or cataracts then this exhibition and open day is well worth a visit,” added Ms Ferronato.
This year Texpo is being held in: Brisbane, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 August; Melbourne Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September; and Sydney, Friday 13 and Saturday 14 September.
