Frank Kelly Has Died Aged 77

Irish actor Frank Kelly, best known for his role at Father Jack Hackett in Father Ted and more recently in Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie, has passed away at age 77.

A veteran of both screen and state, Kelly’s career spanned 60 years.

It was only in November 2015 that he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, although he pledged to continue to work at the time. He was treated for skin cancer earlier in the year.

Back in 2011, Kelly survived bowel cancer. He was also known to have had heart problems.

Since his passing, tributes have flowed, including one from Don Morgan, son of Kelly’s former Father Ted co-star Graham Linehan, who died on exactly the same day 18 years ago.
