Experience racehorse ownership as a tycoon

Racehorse ownership in the ‘sport of kings’ was previously an experience that could only be enjoyed by the wealthy. Today in Australia, this perception has been changed as the introduction of new ownership models attracts thousands of first-time owners. With costs dramatically reduced and the experience shared amongst a community, there is no better time to join the adrenaline-charged rush of ownership.

miRunners, A 99 Sports Group Company has become a leader in this field, having attracted over 3,500 owners. A first of its kind, miRunners enables a premium-bred horse to be divided into 1000 units, allowing 1000 opportunities to get involved.

Earlier this year in January, a groundbreaking partnership between Racing Queensland and miRunners was launched. Expanding their operations in the Sunshine State, Queenslanders now have greater access to jump onboard the ownership ride.

“This innovative partnership aims to introduce a new generation to the excitement of premium horse ownership that is both highly rewarding and affordable.” said Brendan Parnell Racing Queensland CEO.

Jumping out of the barriers, the first horse added into the partnership was a precocious chestnut filly that has given owners two million reasons to smile. Dusty Tycoon named from suggestions made by the Australian public, has become a leading qualifier for the 2020 $2 million The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Prepared at Eagle Farm racecourse by premiership-winning trainer Robert Heathcote the filly and her owners continue to enjoy success as she remains unbeaten in two starts.

On the 16th of November, Dusty Tycoon made her race debut at the Sunshine Coast were jockey Dale Smith compared the celebrations of her owners to the race that stops the nation. “Well I did think it sounded a bit like a Melbourne Cup as we came around the home corner, it was pretty loud from all the crew.”

Experience the excitement of owning a racehorse like a tycoon

As the thrill of ownership continues to storm the state, the remaining two-year-old fillies on offer in the partnership are saddling up to strike the track.

Northern Thunder is regally bred by dually crowned Champion Sire of 2YOs, Snitzel. Since day one this filly has continued to impress her group one winning trainer Chris Munce. “You’ve got to live the dream in racing, you’ve got to give yourself every opportunity, and I think with a filly like this you are doing that.”

Having already completed an official barrier trial back in September Rocky as she is known around the stables has progressed exceptionally. “She is building up nicely and has spelled really well.” Munce said.

“I couldn’t be happier with her. She has good condition, and her coat looks really well also.”

With units already at majority sold it won’t be long before Northern Thunder is storming past the winning post. To experience the excitement of being a racehorse owner purchase today from $330 per unit + $15 per month.

The final filly on offer combines the talent of a Magic Millions winning trainer Toby Edmonds with his son Trent and proven stallion Exceed and Excel. “Our strike rate is extremely good, and I am quite confident we can stretch that through to your first runner.” Edmonds said.

Currently, without a racing name which creates another level of enjoyment for owners in their journey, Grace Kelly as she is affectionately known, does not miss a beat.

Alternating her pre-training between water walking and exercise on the treadmill, Toby Edmonds is more than positive in her progression. “Her attitude is beautiful, and she is just a lovely filly to do anything with, it is a pleasure to have her.”

For $200 per unit + $16 per month, you too can be living the dream of ownership with a graceful galloper.

If owning a racehorse is something you have always considered but never been confident enough to try why not make a move and jump to the lead. Come racing with miRunners and Racing Queensland to join a community of people that have a love for horses and enjoy the thrill of success on the track.
