Darwin – a different kind of adventure

For many people, a trip to the Territory is a trip of a lifetime. Darwin is a vibrant, beautiful, and cosmopolitan city, perfect for a short getaway or as a gateway to the national parks or even Bali. The Top End provides outdoor and nature lovers with a plethora of activities and attractions. Visit the wetlands and see teeming Birdlife in billabongs, be wowed by the lightning storms and the amazing cloud formations. Other activities that you can enjoy include fishing, photography, bird watching and viewing crocodiles, buffalos and kangaroos in the wild.

When in Darwin you can learn about Australia’s war-time history. During World War Two (WWII), Darwin came under direct attack when it was the target of more than 64 Japanese air raids. The Top End played a key strategic role in the defence of Australia and much of its unique military heritage is well preserved. Gun emplacements, oil storage tunnels, bunkers, military airstrips and lookout posts are scattered in and around the city.

Darwin is an interesting place with beautiful sunsets and scenery. If you love good food then the availability of freshest seafood can be found everywhere from the markets, casual eateries on the wharf or at upscale restaurants.

When in Darwin we recommend staying at Darwin’s favourite hotel apartments – Ramada Suites Zen Quarter. Located in the CBD these one and two bedroom fully self-contained hotel suites have everything you need for an enjoyable stay, including free wifi and free parking. The large apartments have full kitchen facilities  – although you might not want to cook and use the onsite licensed restaurant instead. Horizen Cafe located on the same level as the 28 meter infinity pool provides two complimentary full breakfasts with each booking. If you are planning to drive to Darwin – they offer space for camper vans.

All of their rooms have views of either the city or harbour (some have both) so you can view either the sunrise or sunset from your large balcony. BOOK NOW and quote the code RETIREE for 10% off best available rates. For more information visit www.zenquarter.com or call 0879125212 or email reception@ramadasuitesdarwin.com
