Around the world, on September 19, want-to-be pirates get to bring out their swashbuckler garb for Talk Like a Pirate Day. While it may be a whole lot of buccaneer fun, it’s also in aid of a great cause.

Australia, Talk Like a Pirate Day is dedicated to raising awareness of the impact childhood cancer has on families, while raising funds for Childhood Cancer Support (CCS).
Loot raised for CCS goes towards helping families with transport to and from hospital, family day trips, mini breaks and ‘me-time’. It also enables CCS to implement family support programs, covers accommodation and basic living costs for families forced to travel with unwell children, and bring great joy through the annual CCS Christmas Party.
