Use Your Photography Skills to Support the Macular Disease Foundation

If you are into photography, and helping a worthy cause, check out the Macular Disease Foundation’s mEYE World Photographic Competition.

Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of blindness and severe vision loss in Australia and affects central vision, which is responsible for our ability to see faces, read, drive, and distinguish colours clearly. One in seven Australians over the age of 50 has some evidence of this disease.

The mEYE World Photographic Competition provides an opportunity for enthusiasts and budding photographers to showcase their talent, whilst raising awareness of the disease and supporting the Macular Disease Foundation Australia in its pursuit to save sight.

Patron of the Macular Disease Foundation, Ita Buttrose, will head the judging committee of the mEYE World Photographic Competition, alongside Ken Duncan, one of Australia’s most prominent landscape photographers.Entries must include 30-60 words that explain how the entrant’s photograph shows their appreciation of the gift of vision. Entries will be judged on their creativity, composition, content, and technique. For further information, including prize detail and entry conditions, go to www.meyephotocomp.com.au.
