Stars Aplenty Take to the Stage at Noosa International Food and Wine Festival

dami imWorld-class entertainers will join internationally applauded chefs and renowned wine makers for the Noosa International Food & Wine Festival when its staged between May 15 to 18.

The Festival kicks off with Australia’s ever-popular opera and musical stars David Hobson, Taryn Fiebig and Jud Arthur accompanied by the Queensland Virtuosi Orchestra and maestro Guy Noble for the Foodie Fandango launch event, on the Thursday night.  The Gala Concert and Dinner includes a sumptuous two course dinner with matching wines following the concert. Concert-only tickets are also available.

You’ll need your dancing shoes for Friday night’s  Westpac Welcome Concert, starring X-Factor winner, the fabulous Dami Im, supported by high energy Brisbane ‘classic hits’ rock band, The Deadliners, and seven piece powerhouse, Honey.

The Noosa International Wine and Food Festival Main Stage kicks off early on the weekend, from 4pm on Saturday, with high-energy entertainment to set up an exciting evening. With Aussie favourite, pop diva Paulini and a great variety of music from acts including Renae & The Swing Collective and 60’s retro classics from the Beach Boyz; there’s something to keep everyone smiling and dancing in the streets.

Saturday night continues the party vibe with the Sixties Beach Party at the Qantas beach marquee. Don your Hawaiian shirts and twist your way through the night with the fun, fun, fun cover band, the Beach Boyz. Dine on retro-style beach barbecue food by Jonathan Barthelmess, Colin Fassnidge, Dan Hong, Justin North, Louis Tikaram, and Matt Wilkinson.

The popular Sunset Concert Series at the stunning Noosa National Park Lookout will return to the Festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday  evenings; each followed by delectable dinners featuring some of the best dining venues around Noosa.  Sunday evening’s concert will feature an Italian twist with Maria Venuti A.M. entertaining the crowd in her inimitable style. Maria will guide guests through an eight-course Italian feast prepared by Lucio Galletto, Guy Grossi, Massimo Mele, Alessandro Pavoni, Tony Percuoco, Giovanni Pilu and Nino Zoccali.

The entertainment doesn’t stop there: the Festival culminates with a sensational performance line-up at the Main Stage on Sunday afternoon. Catch Mdevine and Don’t Fret, and the return of the Queen Bohemian Rhapsody with Thomas Crane to finish off the 2014 event with a true party atmosphere.
