Spring Retirement Festival

The third annual Spring Retirement Festival is being held across villages around Australia through October and November.

Australia’s Leading Theatre and Cabaret Artist, Rhonda Burchmore is just one of 12 talented artists celebrating creative life as part of Festival, supported by Lendlease, held across villages until 20 November.

During the festival, each of the 11 retirement villages will host major events including musical shows and tributes, burlesque-inspiring dance cabaret, cooking demonstrations, creative art workshops and comical capers from some of the industry’s best.

Queensland manager of Lendlease’s retirement living business Greg Little said the festival was a great opportunity to celebrate creative life and inspire those over 55 to try something new.

“Creativity is the zest of life, so we’re excited to acknowledge that through our vibrant program of events this Spring,” Mr Little said.

“We look forward to opening our doors to the community, welcoming them into our 11 villages and celebrating the lives of over 55s.”

Sunshine Coast villages will host art workshops including graffiti, collage and painting; a soprano quartet with a twist and a sublime live-band and burlesque-inspiring dance cabaret.

Don’t let the sun go down on you without getting to the Elton John Tribute Show at Keperra Sanctuary in Brisbane or at The Lakes in Bundaberg.

Crocodile rock your hearts out with the incredible singing and piano playing of Greg Andrews, whose uncanny likeness to Elton John.

Festival and Australian TV veteran Denise Drysdale will bring her self- deprecating and hilariously tactless comedy to two festival locations. Denise has been on Australian televisions for more than 50 years and generously shares her laughter filled life’s journey.

There will be cooking demonstrations with chef Matt Golinski at Hibiscus Noosa Outlook and pocket-rocket 4-ingredients author Kim McCosker at Argyle Gardens in Bundaberg.

Comedy duo Bon Appetite will bring their silly slapstick from Sydney for a special plate juggling, bottle balancing “dining” experience.

All events are free and are for those aged 55+. To view the full festival program visit the website or to make bookings, visit here or call the Spring Retirement Festival hotline 1800 550 550.
