The Nutcracker Coming To Australian Cinemas

The Royal Ballet’s production of  The Nutcracker will be broadcast live into cinemas across Australia from January 31.

This production premiered at number one in the UK Box Office when it debuted on December 12, 2013 and features a mesmerising score by Tchaikovsky, a fierce battle between the toy soldiers and the army of Mice led by the Mouse King, and the famous dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy danced by Royal Ballet Principal dancer Laura Morera, with Federico Bonellias the Prince.

Peter Wright’s production was first seen at Covent Garden in 1984 this production will see the full Company of The Royal Ballet fill the stage with colour and energy while the set designs, beautiful costumes and impressive staging create a magical atmosphere.

Tchaikovsky’s score is performed by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and contains a wealth of famous melodies, recognizable to ballet newcomers and aficionados alike.
