Up to 45% of Australians are affected by sleep related issues, according to a new study. So how can you get better sleep? Here’s four things you can do tonight to improve your slumber. First, get horizontal between 9pm and 11pm. This is the time your body relaxes and adrenalin/cortisol levels go down, and melatonin kicks in.
Second, take some magnesium before you go to bed – this will reduce your chances of waking up in the middle of the night.
Next – monitor whether you’re waking up between 1 and 3am or 3am and 5am – this will indicate if you’re angry, frustrated, depressed or sad and how to manage it.
And last, have a chamomile tea to get your revs down before bedtime.
