Symphony Under the Stars Shines in Adelaide on Saturday

symphony under the starsThe Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s biggest event, Santos Symphony Under the Stars, will see Elder Park shine this weekend with more than 15,000 people set to attend.

Now in its sixteenth year, Santos Symphony Under the Stars has become a South Australian institution and one of the state’s much loved outdoor concerts. This year it will be presented by Channel Seven’s Jane Doyle and feature conductor Garry Walker together with one of Australia’s best-loved baritones, José Carbó. The program features Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Grainger’s Irish Tune from County Derry plus music from the James Bond films and concludes with a bang with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture complete with a firework spectacular!

The Adelaide Youth Orchestra will perform prior to the concert at 6pm.

Symphony Under the Stars is a free event – pack a picnic and enjoy!
