Song for Marion

To celebrate the release of Song for Marion in cinemas April 25, The Retiree magazine is giving away 10 double passes to the film.

Song for Marion is a wonderfully heart-warming story of a loving marriage between grumpy retiree Arthur (Stamp) and his ever-cheerful wife Marion (Redgrave). Cantankerous but doting husband Arthur does not share Marion’s passion for performing. While she is happy to sing her heart out with the unconventional local choir, Arthur would prefer to hide himself away and complain about how embarrassing it all is. But when heartbreak strikes, Arthur is forced to re-think his outlook on life and thus begins the transition from reticence to real-time optimist.

With the steady perseverance of choir director Elizabeth (Arterton), Arthur begins to find a way to come out of his shell and in the process forms a touching relationship with Elizabeth as well as a desire to build bridges with his estranged son James (Eccleston).

Song for Marion is a touching film of self-discovery with an insatiable mix of comedy and drama that will have you laughing and reaching for the tissues all at once. Directed by award-winning Paul Andrew Williams (London to Brighton), Song For Marion stars Terence Stamp (Wanted), Vanessa Redgrave (Atonement), Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia), and Christopher Eccelston (24 Hour Party People).

Song for Marion opens in cinemas April 25
