Site Coordinators Needed for National Tree Day in July

John O'Connor_plantingPlanet Ark is looking for coordinators to assist with National Tree Day on Friday 25 July to host sites in their area and teach younger generations the value of tree planting.

“Our research shows that approximately one in three people spend less than 18 minutes per day doing outdoor recreational activities,” says National Tree Day Manager Debbie Agnew. “Australians are spending increasing amounts of time indoors and National Tree Day is a call-to-action. It’s the perfect opportunity to get people back outside and connected with nature, and we can show them just how easy it is.”

Each year over 200,000 people take part in National Tree Day events at more than 3,000 sites around the country, adding value to the environment, to their o

wn health and wellbeing and to the local community. By participating in National Tree Day, coordinators will be contributing to the country’s biggest community tree planting and joining thousands of individuals in making a difference, connecting people with nature, beautifying neighbourhoods and inspiring positive environmental change.

Coordinators don’t need to be planting professionals as Planet Ark provides ideas and assistance. To find out more, visit treeday.planetark.org, call the Hotline on 1300 88 5000 or visit  National Tree Day partner Toyota’s participating dealerships.
