Former Australian Test cricket captain Ricky Ponting will highlight his ongoing passion for golf as Ambassador for the 2014 Playgolf Week from 17-23 November.
The +1 handicapper has been a regular at golf tournaments around the country and shot 69 in the Oates Victorian Open Pro-Am in February.
“I am so excited to be involved in Playgolf Week,” Ponting said. “I’m an unashamed golf tragic and reckon everyone should experience the enjoyment of playing golf. Nothing beats getting out in the fresh air on a golf course and trying to improve your game. It’s a game that you can share with family and friends, a game that you meet so many new people that become friends and above all, it’s a game that absolutely gets you in. Playgolf WEEK will be held from 17-23 November and is a week of golf activities, including Come & Try Days, Club Special Offers, and Prizes and Competitions. Nearly 300 facilities Australia-wide are taking part in the event.
