Uncovering Egg-ceptional Gags on World Egg Day

Today is World Egg Day, and in a bid to have some fun and raise awareness of the contentious topic of health benefits of eggs, a nationwide serrchhas begun to uncover the most egg-ceptionally side-splitting gag.

The hunt began on the Australian Eggs Facebook page where fans were asked to submit their favourite egg joke, whether it was an original or an oldie but a googie.

Joke eggs-pert, Jimmy James Eaton was then tasked with sifting through hundreds of nominations to decide on the dozen best jokes.

Based on the public’s reactions, a shortlist of jokes was identified for egg fans to have the final say on Australia’s funniest egg joke. After hundreds of votes the one that had the nation cracking up was…

Q: Why can’t you tease egg whites? A: They can’t take a Yolk!

Jimmy James said of the search, “After an egg-stensive mission I’m confident we’ve found Australia’s best egg joke, just in time for World Egg Day. It’s a great opportunity to recognise eggs as perfect packages of nutrition, deliciousness and even laughter!”.

The joke is a quirky reminder of the contentious topic about cholesterol and separating the egg yolk from the white.

And, here are some more jokes:

Q. What do chickens boogie down to? A. R-egg-ae.
