Earlier this month a granddad and his new dog, Penny, took the internet by storm when his granddaughter uploaded a photo of them to her social media account.
Jessica Amante posted the adorable photo on Twitter after her granddad sent the photo to her.
“My grandpa just got a new dog and had his caregiver take pictures of him to send to me,” Ms Amante wrote on Twitter, accompanied by three crying emojis.
Ms Amante’s mother also shared some photos to Facebook, 9 News reported.
“My father-in-law (age 90) just adopted a sweet dog! He is already in love,” she wrote.
Twitter exploded in response to the images, with Ms Amante’s post was liked more than 82,000 times and shared more than 41,000 times.
Emotions ran high among some social media users, who posted pictures of themselves tearing up after seeing the pictures.
