Disability Action Week

All people are being urged to make a small change that would have a positive effect for themselves and their communities during Queensland’s Disability Action Week this week.

Running from 8 to 14 September, Disability Action Week encouraged positive attitudes towards people with a disability, their families and carers.

“The theme for this year’s Disability Action Week is ‘Imagine the positive effect even a small change could have’,” Disability Services Minister Tracy Davis said. “I’d encourage all Queenslanders to think about the changes they can make, big or small, to include all people in our communities. “We can all make changes to create welcoming and inclusive communities, accessible environments and a future full of possibilities. “Disability Action Week is our opportunity to come together in our communities to achieve this vision.”

The Disability Action Week online events calendar lists the registered events during the week and people can check out the latest events by visiting www.communities.qld.gov.au/disability or phone 13 74 68.
